Otherworldly....

This place blew all of my expectations away. The fishing is simply special - no other words to describe it. The fact that you can fish the river for Grayling, jig/troll for monster lakers, flyfish/cast for hyper aggressive pike, hike into one of the surrounding lakes for even more action creates a week's worth of fishing that is something that you will never forget. Todd is an excellent owner, and the guides are accommodating, knowledgeable, and really made our stay one to remember. And the food was awesome - between the incredible meals at the lodge and the shore lunches at the mouth of the river... wow. I will definitely be back. Nothing else like this around.

SMOKING MIRRORS

Although the fishing was very good there were some major disappointments. The owner usually takes care of the shore lunches with nice crispy fish, but it was anything but. May Lake, which I really looked forward to fishing, was not available to us because the owner explained that grizzly bears were a problem in that area. Nasty wind on Wolf means you will need a chiropractor at the end of your day. The Wolf river is stunningly beautiful and the grayling fishing is so good you can walk across the river on the backs of the fish. I really looked forward to the pike fishing but by the end of July pike fishing is a distant memory. Paying over $8.00 per oz of booze is a blatant cash grab. Cabins were comfy but showers are very tight. Dished out $8,000 for this trip; I felt extremely short changed. If you have too much on your plate to attend to your guests well, don't host anyone that week. Beautiful fireplace in dining hall was not operational so we froze every morning eating breakfast. Awesome Laker Fishing !

My sons and I had an awesome trip to Wolf Lake Wilderness Lodge this past June. Todd's hospitality was outstanding and Lisa's meals and baking were delicious. But the highlight of the trip was the fantastic fishing in the beauty of the Yukon. I would highly recommend the guiding services offered at the lodge. Jack's years of experience on Wolf Lake greatly increases your odds of catching more and bigger fish. My boys and I spent 8 days on Wolf Lake and it wasn't long enough for us, we could have done another 8. We are looking forward to getting back up to the Yukon.

Favorite Canadian Fishing Lodge

I've fished remote Canadian lodges for the past 15 years with a group of friends, and Wolf Lake Lodge was our best experience. Several of the guys in our group caught their personal best lake trout. The lodge holds 10-12 people but with just eight of us, there was plenty of room. I was there in July of 2019, shortly after the new owners took over. The hosts, Todd and Shari Collins, treated us all like family. They customized each day for what we wanted to do; fish for trophy lake trout, arctic grayling, shore lunch, or a trip to the portage lakes. Facilities were clean and comfortable, with two guys to a cabin. Shari's food was great, with homemade bread, fresh fruit, and a variety of dinner options. Todd and his son Denton were great guides. The boats and motors were all in excellent condition. The scenery is amazing. It's further for me than Ontario, but worth the trip.

We had a great experience at Wolf Lake Wilderness Lodge! Todd and team take care of you and make sure you have everything you need for a successful trip. Lisa provides three excellent meals a day and Jack is an experienced guide. If you are looking to catch grayling, the mouth of the river provides you an opportunity to catch a fish on most casts. If you are searching for Lake Trout, you might have to work a bit. But once you find them, quantity and trophies are in Wolf Lake! We caught about 80 trout over 4 days with a few close to 20lbs.

2nd time as good as the first

When I first visited Wolf Lake Lodge, it was 1997 and I went with a buddy. This time (June 2012), I returned with my son. 15 years later, everything was as good as it was the first time ... we caught loads of lake trout, enjoyed beautiful scenery (including watching a cow moose teach her young calf how to swim), consumed gourmet meals and had a very relaxing time over six days. A one hour Beaver flight from Whitehorse and we were settling into our own private cabin with ensuite bathroom. The lodge owners, Michelle and Wes Walker, are wonderful hosts. There is excellent lake trout and arctic grayling fishing in Wolf Lake. May Lake is a 4-mile long back lake that is a 15 minute walk down a trail; the 4-8lb laker action there is nonstop and the big pike are hungry in July and August. A smaller lodge like this one (max 12 guests) is a better bet for great fishing. This place represents great value.

This is a beautiful place for a family to have fun 4 a week.

I went to Wolf Lake when I was a boy, in 1972. I was in 9th grade. We went there 2 weeks in August with some other family. We had a ball. Now I'm 60 yrs old and want to bring my new family back there. (Review Nov 2018; recollection of a 1972 trip)

Great spot…Todd the host is a great guy…food was great…fully stocked bar…staff are excellent…caught 50 to 60 fish in four days and we are not hardcore fishermen…accommodations were good…my son and I had a wonderful fishing trip and will go back to Wolf Lake Lodge again. (Stayed June 2023)

Best Fishing Trip of my life

I had the absolute best time at Wolf Lake this summer! My dad and I made some of our best memories together on this trip: from seeing my very first wild moose to catching our first ever Arctic grayling, and even hooking into some massive lake trout that fought like crazy! Wolf Lake - non stop fishing adventure

We went on this excursion with my father, son and uncle. This was a trip to remember. Fishing was amazing. Lake trout were on the line every boat trip out and some big fish were caught. Grayling fishing was unreal. They would hit hard and fight like crazy no matter how big they were. We had a few delicious shore lunches with grayling and lake trout at the mouth of Wolf River. Food at the lodge was prepared by Chef Wolfe Roberts and everything he created was top notch. Todd, Colin, Jack and Brody were very knowledgeable guides and turned us in the right direction when navigating the lake. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking and there is a postcard photo in every direction. (Stayed July 2023)

Best trip of my life!!!

This was hands down the best and most memorable trip and experience of my life. I went to Wolf Lake with my brothers and a couple of friends for a stag party trip. It was an amazing time with a great host, awesome guides and an amazing chef. The location is picturesque with mountains all around, the Arctic Grayling were a blast to catch in the mouth of the river and the Lake Trout were fun to catch. The cabins were roomy and comfy with full bathrooms, the lodge was a great size for all to sit and visit, and the boats and equipment were all newer and in great shape. This was an experience that I will never forget. Thanks Todd and staff! (Stayed July 2023)

Remarkable world class lake trout fishing in the most beautiful place in the Yukon.

My daughter Jessica and I attended the Wolf Lake Wilderness Lodge this past summer. It was my fourth straight year. The team at Wolf Lake deliver a world class experience. I have travelled Canada extensively, having many experiences at lodges all over the country. I frequently relate to anyone who asks that Wolf Lake is my favorite. The lake offers great access for many excellent lake trout fishing opportunities. There are very large lakers in this lake. The Wolf river is world class Arctic Grayling fishing on the fly. There are three distinctly different mountain ranges surrounding the lake. The food service is world class. Great accommodations with hot showers. The boats are equipped for the north and offer stability and sonar. Most of all the owners are wonderful, honest and loving people. (Stayed July 2025; review Oct 2025)

An Unforgettable Yukon Adventure for Father and Son!

This was the first time my son and I went on a fishing trip to the Yukon, and Wolf Lake Wilderness Lodge delivered on absolutely every single level! The scenic journey between Whitehorse and Wolf Lake set the tone for an incredible stay. Todd and his crew (Shane and Sherri) are exceptional. They were incredibly kind and accommodating — they made arrangements even when we asked to head out on the water at 4:00 AM! The fishing quality is just incredible. The boats are well-equipped, and we were able to borrow lures. The cabins are comfortable and clean. The food is absolutely delicious and plentiful. Spectacular fish spectacular scenery spectacular experience

In early June Todd asked me and a couple of our friends to come north and help him open the camp for the season and renovate the old lodge building. I have never travelled that far north or that far back in the wilderness. It was quite an experience. I would highly recommend it. For Todd it's all about the details. The camp is spotlessly clean. In between working some long days we managed to do a little fishing. It did not disappoint. Spectacular fish, spectacular scenery, mountains and snow. Flying in and out on a bush plane and landing at this little jewel of a camp was unforgettable. Todd's goal is to give every guest an experience they will never forget. At age 72 I didn't think there were many life changing experiences left for me. I was wrong. (Stayed June 2026, review Aug 2026)

An unforgettable Yukon wilderness experience — this place has it all. If you're looking for a true wilderness fishing lodge that delivers on every front, Wolf Lake Wilderness Lodge is it. From the moment we arrived, this place exceeded every expectation. The fishing was absolutely world-class. We landed numerous lake trout over 20 lbs and topped it off with some fantastic Arctic grayling action on the Wolf River. We had a gorgeous shore lunch right on its banks. The scenery throughout is simply breathtaking. The lodge is beautifully built and well-maintained. Our cabin was very comfortable, with new beds. The meals were excellent — hearty, well-prepared.
