Summarized Review Highlights
Guest sentiment toward Arctic Lodges, on Reindeer Lake in northern Saskatchewan, is overwhelmingly positive. Nearly all of the reviews on TripAdvisor and Google give five stars, and many come from repeat guests. Some report going back annually for 5 to 20 years, and one reports a tenth trip. One group booked a trip for 32 customers and then booked again. The one three-star review comes from a longtime organizer of group trips. Several reviewers say they have fished other lodges in Canada and elsewhere and rate this one above them.
The fishing is the most consistent praise, especially trophy northern pike. Many reviewers report multiple pike over 40 inches, with fish of 45 to 48 inches mentioned several times. Others report very high catch counts, such as over 100 pike in four days or more than 80 lake trout in about four hours. Lake trout, walleye and Arctic grayling are also mentioned. Several guests describe "grand slam" days or trips, and some fly fishers say the boats, with raised casting platforms, suit fly fishing for pike. Guides are repeatedly described as knowledgeable about the lake, patient and good teachers, and several are named, with Zach mentioned most often. Reviewers praise the food just as consistently: gourmet or four-course dinners, an on-site chef, and shore lunches cooked by the guides from fresh-caught fish. Staff and owners (named as Kelly and Andrea in most reviews) are called attentive and accommodating, and one reviewer mentions accommodation for dietary needs, health restrictions and older family members. Cabins are described as clean and comfortable, and many reviewers call them rustic. Others say the setup is more comfortable than they expected, with hot water, toilets and daily fresh linens. Hot tubs were added recently, and reviewers also mention wildlife sightings and the northern lights.
Complaints are rare. The single critical review (3 stars, with an owner response disputing parts of it) says fishing quality depended heavily on which guide you got, with some boats catching many 40-inch pike and others only a few small ones. The reviewer also said the trip was effectively three and a half days of fishing rather than four, that one day included about six hours of boat travel and two of fishing, that management was dismissive, that drinks were expensive, and that the fishing did not match Wollaston Lake lodge. The owner disputed the bar pricing and the first-day schedule. One 2024 reviewer noted no giant lake trout that year, though they had caught several on earlier trips. Other points to be aware of are that the lodge is remote and reached by air (one reviewer mentions flying out of Saskatoon), and that cabins vary, with some newer and some more rustic. Based on these reviews, the lodge suits trophy pike and lake trout anglers, fly fishers, groups of friends or colleagues, couples, and multigenerational families, including parent-child trips. Several non-anglers and first-time fishers also say they enjoyed it thanks to patient guides.

Arctic Lodge is more than well worth the trip
I returned to Arctic Lodges for the 6th time in late August of 2023 after a few years off. I usually went in early July previously for trophy trout that kept my lines tight in the early season. However, I was completely enamoured by the aggressive pike action late in the season. The stay at arctic lodge was once again way beyond my expectations when it came to food, service, and trophy fishing.

The staff at Arctic Lodges took care of everything - so we could just eat, sleep and fish! The cabins are clean, comfortable and cozy. The boats are comfortable and efficient. The food is excellent! Shore lunch is quite a treat! Our guides were professional, extremely knowledgeable, flexible and fun. Plan a trip and go!

Amazing fishing lodge with trophy fish that you have to go!
Got the opportunity to repeat a trip with my dad to Arctic Lodges. We first visited in 2018. Kelly, Andrea and the staff along with the huge northern pike exceeded our expectations yet again. Over 4 days, we landed 7 pike over 40 inches including 2 that went 45 inches. The cabins are rustic, but very clean and well kept. Where Arctic Lodges separates themselves is the service. The food is wonderful. Every dinner is 4 course. Our guide Peter was absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a lodge with outstanding service and opportunities to catch world class fish, Arctic Lodges is your place!

Daughter/father Arctic Lodges Experience
My daughter and I just returned from our adventure with Arctic Lodges. We were treated like royalty, the meals were superb, the place was peaceful and quiet. And we caught fish—a lot of them, some (very) big. Our guide, Zach, was knowledgeable, informative, and accommodating. He cooked terrific lakeside lunches from the fish we caught in the morning. Finally, they made us feel like family. And they made us feel like it was genuine.

World Class Fishing Trip
My young son, brother, and I had the opportunity to fish and stay at the Arctic Lodge on Reindeer Lake in July 2022. The fishing was absolutely unbelievable. Grayling, Walleye, and Lake Trout were big and plentiful... but my focus was on 40 plus inch Northern Pike. We caught multiple fish over 40"! The cabins and lodge were rustic but very nice... and food were truly first class. The guides were professional and hard working... and made the best shore lunches I have ever had.

Best guide and a wonderful experience.
My son and I traveled to Arctic Lodges for a fishing trip in late July. The accommodations and cuisine were everything we hoped to find. The staff was remarkably friendly and attentive. Our guide Zach was nothing short of incredible! He was responsive to our goals and so knowledgeable of lake I am in awe. My son boated six trophy pike in three and a half days and we were never without action. I have never had a finer guide - period.

Western Canada's Reindeer Lake — A Once-in-a-Lifetime Trip
Reindeer Lake in Western Canada is such an awesome, world-class fishery that should be in every enthusiast angler's bucket list of places to fish. I have had an absolute blast there fishing with a group of anglers from Asia recently and was blown away by the outstanding quality of the fishery and my overall experience during my stay at Reindeer Lake Lodge. We were there in early July where spinnerbaits and swimbaits were the deal of the week both in terms of quality and numbers caught. In fact, the spinnerbait bite was truly outstanding that it enabled us to make the front cover on three angling magazines in Asia. I caught my personal best northern pike on a BBZ-1 60 (matte firetiger) in a backwater area — the fish measured 47 inches from nose to tail. Our guide, Robert Clarke is an awesome guy who knows all about starting fires and cooking in extremely windy conditions. The food and hospitality is top notch and the day's itinerary runs like clockwork. The day begins with breakfast at 7:00am, lunch midday, pre-dinner drinks 5.30pm and dinner at 7:00pm. The quality of food is superb! I am a foodie and I totally love the food at Reindeer Lake Lodge where they really go the extra mile to deliver you the best they can. It is hard for me to comprehend that the lodge, especially its remote location, even has a full-fledged kitchen and regular delivery of fresh food and produce. My journey from the United Kingdom spanned around twenty-nine hours door-to-door, but once you arrive at the lodge on that tranquil island, it is like you have stepped into a different world. In my opinion as an angler, this is truly a once in a lifetime trip that you ought to experience. If you are thinking or planning an angling vacation in Canada, I highly recommend that you check out Reindeer Lake Lodge.

Amazing Fishing Experience!
Just got back from my trip to Arctic Lodges June 20th to June 24th. Caught the Grand Slam on fish - Northern Pike, Walleye, Lake Trout and Arctic Grayling. In the 4 days of fishing we caught over 300 fish and many big ones. The largest fish was a 46" pike with another at 45" - catching 2 fish of a lifetime in same trip is simply amazing. Easily caught over 100 pike over 34 inches in 4 days.

First Class Fly Fishing Experience
My wife and I just returned from a four-day trip to explore Reindeer Lake and Arctic Lodges as a fly fishing destination. What a great experience. Scenic beauty, wildlife, great accommodation, world class food, shore lunches (a true Canadian wilderness experience) and lots of large willing fish to challenge anyone. Northern pike, lake trout, grayling, lake whitefish and walleye all available for the fly fisher to pursue.

Potluck.
I have picked a fishing location in Canada for 6 guys every summer for the last 25 years. Arctic has clean cabins, good food and very nice staff. However the fishing quality is almost entirely based upon the guide you get. Some people caught many northerns over 40 inches while some others caught just a few small northerns. We were there for 3 full days and one half day. There is no four day trip despite what they say. Our last day we spent 6 hours driving around in the boat and 2 hours fishing. When I said something to management they could have cared less. Water, soda and alcohol are very expensive. The place does have potential but the fishing is not in same class as Wollaston lake lodge to the north. (Owner responded Jan 2018 disputing the bar pricing and the first-day schedule.)

Amazing fishing
The fishing was amazing, staff was great and always willing to go the extra mile. Super happy with it. I'm a avid sportsman and it was still way better fishing than I've ever seen. And the food; better than I could ever do.

Trip of a lifetime
Incredible experience. I was expecting an extremely rustic experience and I was wrong. The fishing is obviously incredible, my wife and I are not exactly amazing fisher-people and we probably caught ~50 large fish a day. The staff works really hard to get on a first name basis quickly and is incredibly accommodating. Our guide was great and had decades of experience on reindeer lake, was funny and made a great shore lunch every day. Breakfast and dinner were also top notch. The lodge is a great gathering spot and the rooms have hot water, toilets, fresh towels and sheets daily.

Great Place
Arctic Lodges is a great experience. Lots and lots of big pike. I've been there twice now and between my partner and I we have boated over northern over 40" for 8 days of fishing and hundreds of smaller fish. The lodge self is beautiful and very comfy. The cabins themselves are rustic which I enjoy. The food is very good and the staff is awesome. Kelly and Andrea do a great job making sure that their guests have a great time. This is now an annual trip for me!

Trophy Saskatchewan Fishing at it's Best!
Arctic Lodges offers some of the best trophy fishing in Saskatchewan. Our group has landed trophy lake trout, 40+ inch pike and large arctic grayling on all our trips to Arctic Lodges. The guides know the lake well and are motivated to put fisherman onto the "big ones." Shore lunches are a northern experience the guides expertly prepare. The meals at the lodge can be summed up as "a culinary experience". The hosts Kelly and Andrea make every effort to insure our fishing adventure will be life long memory.

Pike, Pike, & more Pike.
Want to catch a monster pike and then some more? Book a trip to Arctic Lodge. Excellent staff and Management. The entire atmosphere of the lodge is awesome from the service to your fellow fisherman. Oh, the trout fishing is just as good.

Canada Fishing Paradise
My wife and I spent opening week at Arctic Lodges this past June. The lodge had the best food at any lodge I went to this year and we went to 5 other lodges in Canada, Alaska and Eastern Russia. This lodge is set up ideally for couples or families. Both the guides and fishing are first rate. My wife and I caught tons of lake trout, pike, walleye and grayling. If you are targeting "huge" northern pike, this lodge is the place to go. The boats are the best I have ever used in Canada with raised casting platforms making it easy to fly fish for pike.

Anniversary Trip ...
Bob & I had the most wonderful 5 day mini holiday at Arctic Lodges. The place is extremely remote and not only did we enjoy the flight but once we landed the place was magic. The staff were all out to greet us & a scrumptious brunch was laid out by the Chef. Our private little cabin was rustic but spotlessly clean & tidy with a hand made anniversary card & a bottle of bubbly on the table. Our guide was George & what a gentleman. We did catch our share of fish, some of which George prepared for shore lunches.

Sixth trip and Counting
If you like fishing, wonderful scenery, great shore lunches and top quality meals at the lodge you really should plan a trip to Arctic Lodges. My two sons and I have made the trip six out of the last seven years travelling from Chicago. Last year we caught and released several trophy pike including a 48" and 45". With over 5000 islands the scenery is really beautiful on Reindeer Lake. The boats are very comfortable. Log cabins for the guests are comfortable. Breakfasts and dinners have been very good every year. Andrea and Kelly really do try to make everyone's trip memorable.

Great people and food.
I went with a group in July of 2019. We had great fishing and enjoyed the company of our guide Peter. They have tremendous knowledge of the lake and all the hot spots. Camp Fires and gourmet dinner every day as well. A great place for a business retreat.

Everything we wanted and more than we could imagine
This was a birthday trip for my husband, an avid fisherman. I went along for the scenery, and hoped I would be able to keep up with the fishing. Our fishing guide, Peter was so helpful and kind, and I caught a lot of fish, and amazingly enough, I caught the fishing bug as well. Beautiful lodge, food was incredible, the staff is maximum in efficiency and graciousness. Thanks to Kelly, Andrea, Ryan, Peter and all the great staff for a trip to remember!

Arctic lodges is the best
Great time…instead of fishing we call it "catching". Fish are easy to get…facilities are awesome and food is good. Shore lunch is the best. Guides are professional and know the lake. Great experience, been going 20 years. My wife loves the lodge and the fishing. (Stay: July 2024)

Arctic Lodge!! WOW!
What an excellent week at Arctic Lodges on Reindeer Lake, Saskatchewan. We caught too many Northern pike to count. Most over 35 inches and my personal best of 41.5. We caught arctic Grayling and lake trout as well. Our guide Luca was absolutely the best and his shore lunch pike was awesome. The staff at Arctic Lodge is amazing. Great breakfast and dinner each day and the cabins are perfect. I'll definitely be going back! (Stay: June 2024)

I am 75 years old and love the outdoors. Arctic Lodges was a totally new experience for me despite many trips by canoe in remote wilderness areas. This place has a wonderful upbeat culture on the 21st largest freshwater lake in the world. The fishing is every bit as advertised. Can't wait to bring grandchildren and children to this special experience. (Aug 2026)

As a returning guest to Arctic Lodge, I already knew what to expect and once again Arctic Lodge delivered on all levels. The extra attention that the staff gives to everyone to enhance the overall guest experience is particularly noteworthy. The cabins are meticulously clean. The food itself is pretty much worth the trip on its own. The boats and tackle are top end. The knowledge of the guides for all times of the fishing season and weather types is exceptional. I must give a special thanks to my guide, Zach, for his expertise and helping me land several trophy pike. I am literally already counting down the days to my Arctic Lodge trip next year. (Aug 2026)

Outstanding Stay at Reindeer Lake Lodge
Our whole group agrees ... our stay at Reindeer Lake Lodge was outstanding. Once again... thank you for a wonderful week.

I have fished Reindeer lake's Lawrence Bay Lodge in mid-August for several years. We fly into Saskatoon and drive to Southend where the Lodge's float plane picks us up. The pike and Laker fishing is great. We've caught several pike of 50" or more. The lodge's cost is reasonable.

Problem solving service
This review is a bit different. My 3 daughters and I wanted to visit an island in Reindeer Lake named after my Grandfather. The plan was to fly to Bray island via Lawrence Bay Airways, camp 4 nights on the island, fly back out and drive to our home in Regina. Too Smokey to fly in so Randy offered to boat us to the lodge where we could stay the night and boat the rest of the way to Bray Island the next morning. We took his offer, had a wonderful evening and meals and a great 2 hour boat ride up to the island with Vince Bear one of the fishing guides. We had a glorious time on the island for two days but then a bear changed our plans. With a couple of encounters we decided we had to leave. Phil and Vince to the rescue. Vince arrived at the island at 10:30pm. Loaded up his boat and then a two hour ride through the night expertly guided by Vince back to the lodge. Again, accommodations provided at a moments notice. Next day we went fishing. My daughters had a great time and we all enjoyed the great shore lunch provided by Vince and Darwin. Next day Randy took us back to Southend where we planned to camp and then head home. Campground was closed so we decided to go to La Ronge. 15 minutes into the trip – flat tire – but Marc the float plane pilot was right behind us and he took control of the situation which was more than just a simple tire change. Ended staying at his quarters overnight before finally heading home to Regina. A crazy adventure but the crew at Lawrence Bay Lodge and Airways were amazing. Thanks to Randy, Phil, Vince and Darwin and other staff our experience will be remembered for a lifetime.

We spent 4 days fishing on reindeer lake with Lawrence Bay Lodge. In those 4 days, I caught more fish than I have in the last 5 years! The hospitality we received from the staff at the Lodge was fantastic! The food we had every night at the Lodge and the shore lunches while out fishing were spectacular! The guide did an outstanding job getting us on fish all day long. This is truly an outstanding experience and I will most certainly be back for more!
