Overview
Canadian Fly-In Outposts is based out of Emo, Ontario, and operates fly-in outpost camps on six remote lakes in northwestern Ontario: Krooked, Entwine, Upper Frypan, Priam, Meggisi, and Off Lake. The five remote fly-in outposts are located northeast of Clearwater Lake, accessible only by float plane from the outfitter's airbase on Off Lake near Emo. Off Lake also has a drive-to cabin option for guests who prefer not to fly into the wilderness.
The operation offers housekeeping-style, self-guided fishing packages and also provides fall hunting for moose and deer. Guests can pre-order groceries, alcohol, and bait to have supplies waiting on arrival, and the outfitter can provide a full gear package for those who wish to simply show up and board the plane.

The Fishing
The outpost lakes support a variety of species including walleye, northern pike, lake trout, smallmouth bass, and muskie. Walleye at the outpost lakes typically run in the 2 to 4-pound class with trophy fish a possibility. Krooked Lake, part of the Trout River flowage, is 15 miles long with depths to 160 feet and holds smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, and lake trout across its humps, shelves, islands, and weed beds. Meggisi Lake is a large lake known for muskie in excess of 35 pounds, along with northern pike and trout. Fishing across the camps is self-guided, with guests using the boats and motors provided at each outpost.
Northern pike can be targeted on all five remote lakes — Krooked, Upper Frypan, Meggisi, Priam, and Entwine. The Entwine Lake outpost is located 50 miles northeast of the airbase and accommodates groups of up to 12, with anglers able to fish for walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and lake trout.
Accommodations
All outpost cabins are described as modern, clean, and finished with pine throughout. Amenities include indoor flush toilets, indoor showers, and backup generators, with some camps running on solar power with a gas stove and water heater. The Krooked Lake cabin has five bedrooms, two bathrooms with flush toilets, and accommodates up to 12 guests, and includes a pontoon boat. The Entwine Lake outpost has four bedrooms, accommodates up to 12 guests, and features air conditioning, Starlink WiFi, two bathrooms with flush toilets, a screened-in porch, and a pontoon boat. Motor sheds stocked with nets, minnow buckets, and life jackets are provided, and seasoned firewood is available at the camps. The outfitter can provide a full grocery package tailored to guests' dietary needs.

Getting There
Guests fly to the remote outpost camps by float plane from the outfitter's airbase on Off Lake, located near Emo in northwestern Ontario. Emo is approximately one hour from International Falls, Minnesota. The remote outpost camps are located roughly 45 to 50 miles northeast of the airbase — Krooked Lake is 45 miles out and Entwine Point is 50 miles out — making them accessible only by float plane. Guests who prefer a non-fly-in option can stay at the drive-to cabin on Off Lake, located beside the outfitter's office.
